Max Griffin is an American Mixed Martial Artist. He is associated with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He has been competing since 2009 and he is affiliated with Marinoble’s Martial Arts and holds a black belt in the Marinoble Fighting System. He is also a part of the MMA Gold Fight Team.

He competes in the Welterweight Division. As of October 2021, he ranked #31 in the worldwide ranking for the Current Best MMA Welterweight Fighter.

Griffin was born on November 29, 1985, in Santa Barbara, California. He stands 1.80 meters tall. His last listed weight is 77 kg. He has a reach that is longer than his height at 76 inches or 193 cm.

Max is engaged to his girlfriend and they have a son who was born in 2021. He currently resides and fights out of Sacramento, California.

He is trained by Bo Sandoval and Dave Marinoble or the Marinoble Fighting System. Griffin has a first-degree black belt in Kickboxing. He also has a black belt in Kung Fu.

West Coast Fighting and the Gladiator Challenge

Before joining up with UFC, Griffin joined several competitions and MMA organizations including the West Coast Fighting Championship and the Gladiator Challenge. He was the welterweight and middleweight champion for West Coast Fighting for a time.

Griffin also participated in the Tachi Palace Fights that were held in California.

The UFC

Max made his debut in the UFC in August 2016. It was at UFC 202. Some of the fighters he has faced up against while in the UFC include Colby Covington, Erick Montano, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, Mike Perry, Curtis Millender, Thiago Alves, Zelim Imadaev, Alex Morono, Alex Oliveira, and Song Kenan.

One of his latest fights was with Carlos Condit. This was held on July 2021. He won that fight in a unanimous decision.

His first knockout in the UFC was against Erick Montano. In his fight with Song Kenan, he earned a Fight of the Night Award. He won the same award when he went up against dos Santos.
