In January 2011, she started fighting for Strikeforce. She had two wins and one loss for the promoter. In July 2013, she joined the UFC. Her first fight for the promoter was a win against Julie Kedzie. Her second fight was a loss to Amanda Nunes in November 2013.

After that loss, she established a five-fight winning streak in the UFC then she lost her rematch with Nunes in December 2019.
