Mark Andrew Bocek is a retired Canadian mixed martial artist. He competed in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was a professional fighter since 2004 lasting up to 2014 before announcing his retirement. Aside from the UFC, Bocek also competed for the King of the Cage promotion.

After seeing UFC 2, Bocek knew right away that he had to be a fighter. Since then he started seeking BJJ training. Now he is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and spent 2 decades studying the art under Rickson and Renzo Gracie then moving on to train with Nova Uniao and eventually receiving his black belt from Joao Roque. Bocek also holds a black belt in Kempo Karate.

He was noticed by Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta after being trained by Bocek in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He made his debut at UFC 73 but lost to Frankie Edgar. He rebounded in his next match by winning over Doug Evans but his victory was short lived after he lost to Mac Danzig. Bocek is a great submission artist with seven of his wins by submission. His submission win over Robinson was Bocek’s first in the octagon. Bocek also won two post fight bonus awards, the Submission of the Night award twice.

Mark Bocek has a total of 12 wins and 5 losses. After winning his last match against Mike de la Torre during the Ultimate Fighter Nationals Finale, Bocek announced his retirement from MMA.
