Keiichiro Yamamiya aka “Kei” is a professional Japanese mixed martial artist born in Kanagawa, Japan on July 12, 1972. He had competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) men’s welterweight, middleweight and light heavyweight division. He also had a long stint with Pancrase.

He started his professional career in 1996 with Pancrase. His debut fight was against Satoshi Hasegawa in July 1996 where he won against split decision. However, he suffered several losses afterwards in Pancrase up until the end of 1996 where he managed to finish victorious against Wes Gassaway at the Pancrase – Truth 10 via unanimous decision. He managed to get several wins and a fair share of losses as well after that at the Pancrase up until 2000. He has a short stint at the Deep tournament but lost against Pauo Filho via KO in 2001.

Yamamiya has been known for his long career in Pancrase, which lasted for 19 years spanning from 1996 to 2015.

He only left Pancrase in 1999 to join UFC only to lose his first and only fight with Eugene Jackson. After the loss, he was released and then returned Pancrase. His last six fights were all losses, the last of which was in 2015 against Ikkei Nagamura in Pancrase – 264.He had a successful career in MMA as he won a couple of tournaments such as the 1997 Pancrase Neo Blood Tournament and 2000 Pancrase Light Heavyweight Championship Tournament.

Yamamiya has a total record of 80 fights with 45 wins and 35 losses.
