Pat Barry or Patrick Joseph Barry is a kick boxer and a former mixed martial artist who was born on July 7, 1979. He competes in the heavyweight division and is known for his devastating low kicks. It was in 2005 when he began his career in kickboxing under K-1. He had been practicing Shanshou as a student in college and had won several titles both in the national and international level before becoming a professional. In 2008, he made his career debut in mixed martial arts and by 2014 announced his retirement and returned to kickboxing.

Barry was born in bustling New Orleans to a military veteran father and a mother with an African descent. He was raised in Bogota, Columbia because of the nature of his parents’ work. He only started training in martial arts when he was already 21 years old. Before becoming a professional fighter, he worked as a pizza delivery man. When he was 23 years old, he started competing in amateur fights including the U.S. Open International Martial Arts Championships.

The talented fighter is known as, “HD” which means Hype or Die. He is an American who stands 5 feet and 11 inches and comes with a 74.5-inch reach. His main style of fighting in mixed martial arts is kickboxing. He boasts of a black sash in Sanshoi, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a kickboxing record of 24 fights with 17 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw. His mixed martial arts record on the hand includes a total of 15 fights with 8 wins and 7 losses.

In addition to his several accomplishments in kickboxing, Barry also made some accomplishments in mixed martial arts including a Combat USA Heavyweight Championship title and a two-time Fight of the Night and Knockout of the Night under the UFC.
