Antonio Silva or Antonio Carlos Silva is a Brazilian mixed martial artist born on September 14, 1979. He is signed under the Ultimate Fighting Championship and competes in the heavyweight division. There was also a time when he competed under the super heavyweight division under the UFC. The talented fighter had earned championship titles in the past including the Cage Warriors Heavyweight championship, the Cage Rage World Heavyweight championship and the EliteXC Heavyweight championship. Aside from that, he also competed in many elite fights including the World Victory Road, Bodog FIGHT Strikeforce and K-1 Hero’s. At present, he is ranked twelfth in his division by the UFC.

The Brazilian fighter hails from Brasilia. At an early age of 4, he began training in Karate and was awarded his black belt at the age of 12. By age 17, he transitioned to judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It was in 2005 when he started his professional mixed martial arts career. This was under the Wolfslair MMA Academy in the United Kingdom.

Silva is nicknamed as, the “Bigfoot”. He stands 6 feet and 4 inches and boasts of an 80-inch reach. He fights out of Campina Grande in Paraiba, Brazil and trains under American Top Team and Team Nogueira. Silva comes with black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Shotokan Karate. In addition to his number of championship titles, he also was awarded a one-time Knockout of the Night under the UFC and a Heavyweight Lineal Championship.

Since 2005, Silva holds an outstanding mixed martial arts record of 28 fights with 19 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw. His wins include 14 by knockout, 3 by submission and 2 by decision.
