Michael Bisping
Michael Bisping is professional mixed martial artist born on February 28, 1979. He is an Englishman currently signed under the Ultimate Fighting Championship and competes in the middleweight division. Bisping is a former light heavyweight champion while at Cage Rage and was the tournament winner during the Ultimate Fighter 3. As of October 2015, he is officially ranked as seventh in his division by the UFC.
Bisping was born in Nicosia, Cyprus inside a British military base and raised in Lancashire, UK. At the early age of 8, he began training in Jujutsu and by age 15, he began competing as an amateur in his country’s “no holds barred” competition, Knock Down Sport Budo. By age 18, he began training in karate, kickboxing and boxing. He had a successful kickboxing career where he won several titles in the heavyweight division. In 2004, Bisping made his professional mixed martial arts debut during the Pride & Glory 2: Battle of Ages. During this event, he won over Steve Matthews via submission in just 38 seconds.
The English fighter, who is also known as, “the Count”, stands 6 feet and 2 inches. He comes with a 75-inch reach and trains with the Reign Training Center. He fights out of Manchester and boasts of a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Yawara Ryu Ju-Jitsu. His mixed martial arts record includes a total of 34 fights with 27 wins and 7 losses. These wins include 15 by knockout, 4 by submission and 8 by decision.
