Jeremy Stephens
Jeremy Stephens or Jeremy Dean Stephens is an American mixed martial artist born on May 26, 1986. He is currently signed under the Ultimate Fighting Championship and competes in the featherweight division. As of 2015, he is ranked eighth in his division by the UFC.
Stephens was born in Des Moines, Iowa. When he was 8, his parents divorced. He was used to moving a lot and switching schools when he was still under the care of his mother. During his fifth grade, he moved to Norwalk with his father. While growing up, the American fighter played basketball and baseball and competed in wrestling. In fact, he was a standout in all sports during his time at Norwalk High School. At age 16, he began his amateur career in mixed martial arts and started his full-time training at the age of 18. During this time, he became the MCC and UGC lightweight champion.
The 30-year old fighter is known as “Lil’ Heathen” in the mixed martial arts world. He stands 5 feet and 9 inches and comes with a 71-inch reach. In terms of training, Stephens goes to Alliance MMA. He comes with a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a mixed martial arts record of 37 fights with 25 wins and 12 losses. These wins include 16 by knockout, 3 by submission and 6 by decision. Some of his accomplishments under the Ultimate Fighting Championship include a three-time Knockout of the Night and a three-time Fight of the Night.
