Brendan Loughnane has started his PFL season debut in a grand and violent fashion.

On Friday, at the first PFL 2021 event, Loughnane knocked out Sheymon Moraes, a UFC alumnus, through a flurry of brutal punches. The fight ended at 2:05 and earned Loughnane six points for his first appearance during a regular season.

Moraes was initially floored earlier in the match but was still able to get back on his feet. Unfortunately, just as he was recovering, Loughnane did not back off, and started to unload a barrage of punches, which visibly rattled Moraes. While the seasoned fighter was unable to escape from the cage, Loughnane managed to land a violent right hand. This eventually led to his victory.

Through this match, Loughnane is still undefeated so far in his career with the PFL. The fighter has signed with PFL sometime after Dana White did not include him in the Contender Series. So far, Loughnane has a 2-0 record in the non-season events. After this victory, Loughnane is standing at the peak of the featherweight standings.

In an earlier interview, Loughnane shared his frustrations with the pandemic and his eagerness to fight. He said, Touching my 30s, Ive already had a lot of fights, but I wanted to secure my legacy. I want to fight the best guys out there and when its said and done, I dont want to be sitting in the pub downing pints, saying, I could have done this, and I could have done that. Thats not going to happen.

On the other hand, Moraes marked his PFL debut with a loss, which has extended to three since then. This recent defeat is by far one of the most brutal among the three.

The fight involving Loughnane and Moraes was held at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City.
