Former UFC star fighter Ronda Rousey finally had her chance to make a debut into the WWE right on Sunday night. Her highly anticipated appearance into the world of pro-wrestling at WrestMania34 was better than expected.
Here are some of the reasons why Ronda Rousey’s debut was considered spectacular:
Ronda Rousey is a newbie in the world of wrestling. She has never wrestled before. Although she is a long-reigning champion in the UFC, she has never really competed in front of thousands of fans either.
Ronda Rousey showed an innate ability to perform on WrestleMania34, bringing her reputation of being the most feared woman on the planet during her MMA career into the WWE stage.
Rousey showed up wearing Rowdy Roddy Piper’s kilt and jacket – paying tribute to the legendary wrestler.
Rousey forced Stephanie McMahon to tap out. When she had her chance to go against McMahon, Rousey hit her with judo tosses, clotheslines, and punching combinations. Although McMahon fought back, she had to be saved by her husband, Triple H after she was slammed into the canvas.
Rousey did well fighting against Triple H, going at him with punches and even lifting him up on her shoulders. She also saved Angle from being counted out, after Angle came in to save her.
Rousey and tag-team partner Angle won the match.
Prior to the event, Rousey said, “I am beyond excited… It’s one of those things that can only be understood if you actually experience it.”
When asked about Ronda Rousey’s performance, McMahon said, “She’s a formidable force… She’s a beast. If you’ve ever seen her train, I mean, you talk about an athlete. She really is one of the world’s greatest athletes.”
If Twitter chatter is any indication, Rousey’s debut sure made waves and has totally exceeded all expectations regarding her in-ring ability.
