Nolan Yonkman

Nolan Yonkman is a Canadian defenseman in the Phoenix Coyotes’ organization.

Yonkman was drafted by the Washington Capitals in 1999, after putting up 129 penalty minutes in his 2nd full season of play in the WHL. He spent two more years in the WHL before joining Washington in 2001. He has played nearly all of the last 10 seasons in the AHL with the Portland Pirates, Hershey Bears and Milwaukee Admirals. He did see some NHL action during his time in the Capitals’ organization, playing in 50 games and recording 8 points and 90 penalty minutes. He’ll be trying to make the Coyotes’ roster out of training camp in 2010.
