Hannu Toivnen
Hannu Toivonen is a Finnish goalie on the Chicago Blackhawks.
Toivonen was drafted in the first round of the 2002 draft by the Boston Bruins, after winning 12 games with HPK’s junior club in Finland. He played two seasons in the AHL with the Providence Bruins before playing a season in Boston as the backup. He won 12 of 38 starts with the club, and never impressed enough to win the starting job. He was traded to St. Louis in 2007, and played 23 games with the team before being sent back to the minors. He spent 2008-09 back in Finland, but returned to the AHL in 2009. He was traded to the Blackhawks in 2010, and will compete for the backup job at the 2010 training camp.
