Matthew Martin

Matt Martin is a Canadian left winger on the New York Islanders.

Martin was drafted by the Islanders in 2008, after he posted 38 points and 155 penalty minutes in the OHL with the Sarnia Sting. He was team captain for another season before joining the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL in 2009. He made his NHL debut later that season, posting 2 assists and 26 penalty minutes. He’ll likely be competing for a spot on the 4th line on the Islanders at training camp for the 2010-11 season.
