Jesper Damgaard
Jesper Damgaard is a Danish defenseman on Malmo.
Despite beginning his career in his home nation of Denmark, Damgaard is a longtime veteran of the Swedish leagues, joining Malmo in 1993. He has never been much of a threat offensively, but is solid in his own end, and at 6'2, 209, can hold his own physically. He played 7 years with Malmo before heading to the German professional league in 2000. He scored 20 points in his first season in Germany, a career high at that time. He returned to Sweden in 2002, playing four years with Modo Hockey, and showed improvement in his game, scoring 12-15 points in all four years. He played another year in Germany before joining Rodovre in Denmark for the 2007-08 season. He scored a career high 31 points that year, before re-joining Malmo in 2008.
Damgaard has been a member of Denmark's national team ever year since 1999, participating at many tournaments, including the World Championships, over the years.
