Per Helmersson

Per Helmersson is a Swedish defenseman on Vasteras IK.

Helmersson began his junior career with Frolunda, playing 3 seasons with the club and winning league championships in 2000, 2001 and 2002. He made his Elitserien debut in the 2001-02 season, playing in 15 games. That same season, he recorded 118 penalty minutes in only 22 games in junior hockey. He joined the Halmstad Hammers in 2002, playing 3 years with the club before joining Skelleftea in 2005. He spent two years with the club, and was signed by the Vaxjo Lakers in 2007. He joined Vasteras in 2009, recording 16 points and 42 penalty minutes in 44 games during his first season with the club.

Helmersson played for Sweden at the 2000 U18 Championships and the 2002 World Juniors.
