Stefan Bemstrom

Stefan Bemstrom is a Swedish defenseman on Sodertalje SK.

Bemstrom is a true homegrown prospect for Sodertalje, as he played his youth hockey with the club, and has been a member of the team for nearly his entire career. He joined the club in 1990, and played with the club for six years, helping it earn a promotion for Division 1 to the Elitserien in 1996. He was sent back to Division 1 with Timra in 1998, but returned to Sodertalje in the Allsvenskan and scored 11 goals and 32 points in 1999-00. He spent the next five years with the club before joining Leksand for two campaigns around the NHL lockout. He returned to Sodertalje in 2006, and has remained with the club ever since. At 5'8, 185 lbs, Bemstrom is one of the smallest players around, but he has demonstrated a good ability to move the puck and contribute offensively.
