Hannu Pikkarainen

Hannu Pikkarainen is a Finnish defenseman on Dynamo Minsk.

Pikkarainen spent 8 of the first 9 years of his career playing for HIFK. He joined the club’s junior team in 2000, and was called up to the SM-Liiga in 2002. He spent 2006-07 playing in the HL and ECHL with the New York Rangers’ organization, but never made it to the NHL. In 2008-09, he scored a career high 23 points for HIFK, and was signed by Modo in 2009. 2009-10 was his first season in the Elitserien, and he finished with 11 goals and 43 points, along with 60 penalty minutes. Following his strong showing, he was signed by Dynamo Minsk to make his KHL debut in 2010.
