Niklas Sundstrom is a Swedish center on Modo Hockey.

Sundstrom was drafted 8th overall by the New York Rangers in 1993, after scoring 18 points in his first full season with Modo. He played two more years with Modo before joining the Rangers in 1995. He scored 21 points in his rookie season for New York. He had the best season of his career in 1996-97, scoring 24 goals and 52 points for the Rangers. It would be the last time he would score more than 20 goals or 50 points in the NHL. He joined the San Jose Sharks in 1999, where he had three productive seasons, before being traded to Montreal in 2003. He would return to Montreal for one season after spending the lockout playing in Italy, but scored only 15 points in 55 games. He returned to his first pro team in 2006, scoring 45 points and helping Modo win the league title in 2007. He scored 53 points for Modo in 2008-09.

Sundstrom played for Sweden at the 1996 World Cup, the 2002 Olympics, and the ’98 and ’99 World Championships. He won a gold medal in ’98 and a bronze in ’99.
