Thomas Greiss is a German goalie on the San Jose Sharks.

Greiss was drafted by the Sharks in 2004, while playing in the German professional leagues. He came to North America in 2006, and joined the Sharks’ minor league affiliate. He first served as the Sharks’ backup keeper in 2008, when he recorded his first NHL loss through three appearances. He earned the full time job as backup to Evgeni Nabokov in 2009.

Greiss has played for the German national team a number of times, but has never won a medal. He did appear for the Germans in the 2006 Winter Olympics, as the youngest goalie in the tournament.
