Kris Beech is a Canadian center on HV71.

Beech was originally drafted in 1999, with the 7th overall pick of the Washington Capitals, while he was playing for the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL. He scored 86 points with the Hitmen in ’99-00, and joined the Capitals for 4 games in 2000-01. He was traded to Pittsburgh as one of the major parts of the deal that brought Jaromir Jagr to Washington. He spent three years in Pittsburgh, but never fully developed into the prospect he was expected to be, and spent the majority of his time in the minors. In 2005, he was traded to Nashville, where he played five games before being traded back to Washington. He spent two years in Washington before being signed by Columbus. He split 2007-08 between the Blue Jackets, Vancouver and Pittsburgh, and decided to play in Sweden at the end of the season. In his first year with HV71, Beech scored 34 points and had 116 penalty minutes, helping the club reach the league finals, where they won the silver medal.
