Ari Vallin
Ari Vallin is a Finnish defenseman on Farjestads BK.
Vallin has played for a large number of professional teams in Finland, Russia and Sweden, as well as spending time in the AHL. He began playing junior hockey with Tappara Tampere in 1991, and made his SM-Liiga debut with the team in 1996. He spent 2 seasons with the club before signing with HPK Hameenlinna in 1998. He returned to Tappara in 1999, where he scored 12 points and recorded a +5 rating. The following season, he went back to Hameenlinna and posted similar stats. In 2001, he joined Jokerit, where he set what were, at that time, his career highs in points and assists with 24 and 20, as well as a +24 rating. He played another season with Jokerit before signing with Karpat in 2003. With Karpat, he won a league title in 2004, scoring the shootout goal that clinched the victory for his club. In 2005-06, he scored 7 goals and 30 points, earning him a trip to the AHL the following year. He played in 24 games for the Rochester Americans, but decided to return to Europe. He joined Frolunda HC and finished the 2006-07 season with them, scoring 9 points. He played 2007-08 in Russia with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, and signed with Farjestads in 2008.
