Chris Butler is an American defenseman on the Buffalo Sabres.
Butler was drafted by the Sabres in 2005, but continued to play for the University of Denver until 2008. In 2006-07, he posted 27 points for the Pioneers, and followed that with a solid season, helping the Pioneers reach the national tournament. In April of 2008, he signed with the Sabres, skipping his last season in the NCAA. He played in 47 games for the Sabres, finishing with 6 points and a +11 rating.
