Bret Hedican is an American defenseman on the Anaheim Ducks.

Drafted in 1988 by the St. Louis Blues, Hedican has spent multiple seasons with 4 teams before playing for Anaheim. He joined St. Louis for 4 games in 1991-92, and spent the next two seasons there, before being traded to Vancouver in ’94. He then spent 6 seasons in Vancouver, including his best statistical season in ’95-96, when he had 23 assists and 29 points. He was traded to Florida in ’99 and spent the next 4 seasons with the Panthers, before being dealt to Carolina in 2002. He won the Cup with them in 2006, and signed with Anaheim in 2008, where he played his 1000th game this season.

Hedican played for the US at both the ’92 and 2006 Winter Olympics.
