Richard Park
Richard Park is an American right winger on the New York Islanders.
Park was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1994, and played one game that season before returning to the OHL. He spent parts of the next two seasons with the Penguins, before spending the next few seasons bouncing between the AHL and NHL with the Anaheim Ducks and Philadelphia Flyers. In 2001, he landed with the Minnesota Wild, where he finally earned himself a regular shift. After playing with the Malmo Redhawks during the lockout in 2004-05, he returned to the NHL with the Vancouver Canucks, spending one season there before signing with the Islanders. In 2007-08, he set career highs with 20 assists and 32 points, while playing in 82 games for only the second season in his career. Born in South Korea, Park is only the second South Korean-born player to be drafted into the NHL.
Park has played for the USA at 7 international competitions, winning bronze at the 2004 World Championships.
