Radek Martinek

Radek Martinek is a Czech defenseman on the New York Islanders.

Martinek was drafted by the Islanders in 1999, after playing for HC Ceske Budejovice in the Czech Extraliga. He joined the Islanders in 2001, and became a regular player in their lineup almost immediately. In 2006-07, he tied his career high with 17 points, despite only playing in 43 games.

Martinek won a gold medal with the Czech Republic at the 2005 World Championships.
