Dainius Zubrus
Dainius Zubrus is a Lithuanian center on the New Jersey Devils.
Zubrus was drafted 15th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1996. He had 21 points his rookie season, as the Flyers reached the Stanley Cup Finals. He was traded to Montreal at the trade deadline in 1999, and had a breakout season in ’99-00, when he scored 42 points. He was traded again at the 2001 trade deadline, this time on the Washington Capitals. He had the best season of his career in 2005-06, after returning from play in the Russian Super League during the lockout. That year, he put up 23 goals and 57 points. He was traded to Buffalo at the 2007 trade deadline, and signed with New Jersey the following offseason.
Zubrus has played for Russia in international competition, but recently decided to play for Lithuania, as he did in the 2005 World Championships.
