Nigel Dawes

Nigel Dawes is a Canadian left winger on the Calgary Flames.

Dawes was drafted by New York in 2003, and he went on to play 3 more seasons in the WHL and AHL before being called up for 8 games in 2006. He played 61 games in 2007-08, recording 14 goals and 29 points. In 2008-09, Dawes scored 10 goals and 19 points for the Rangers before being traded to Phoenix at the trade deadline. He recorded 2 assists in 12 games with the Coyotes, and was signed by Calgary in the offseason. Dawes is also one of a growing number of African-American hockey players in the NHL.
