Ben Eager is a Canadian left winger on the Atlanta Thrashers.
Eager was drafted in the first round of the 2002 Draft by Phoenix. Before ever playing a game for the Coyotes, he was dealt to Philadelphia, where in 2006-07, he led the league in penalty minutes with 233. Midway through the 2007-08 season, he was moved to Chicago. In Chicago, Eager developed into a tough, physical checker capable of providing some occasional offense on the Blackhawks’ energy line. In 2010, he won the Stanley Cup with the Hawks, but was traded to Atlanta shortly afterwards, along with a number of other Hawks, since the club was so badly in need of cap space.
