Nikita Igorovich Zaitsev is a professional ice hockey player from Russia. Zaitsev was born on October 29, 1991 in Moscow, and he is currently known for being a defender of HC Sibir Novosibirsk, a major club in the Kontinentalen Hockey-Liga or KHL.

Zaitsev started playing professional ice hockey when he was still very young. Back then, he was approached to join the junior department that Krylya Sovetov Moscow had. There, he was an active player up until 2009. Incidentally, in 2009, Zaitsev was drafted in the first round, fourth position by HC Sibir Novosibirsk for the 2009 NHL Draft Junior.

Since the draft, Zaitsev has already been playing with HC Sibir Novosibirsk. He has also taken part at the Under 18 World Cup held in 2009, as well as the Under 20 Junior World Cup that was held the following year.
