Witali Wassiljewitsch Proschkin (otherwise known as Vitali Proshkin) is a professional ice hockey player who is best known for being one of the top defenders and overall players of Salavat Ufa Julajew, a professional club in the Kontinentalen Hockey-Liga or the Continental Hockey League. Proshkin was born on May 8, 1976 in Elektrostal, Russian SFSR, and has started his professional career in 1994.

Proshkin’s professional career pretty much started when he was signed by Crystal Elektrostal in 1994. Together with the team, Proshkin honed his skills and was soon able to catch the attention of scouts from various teams. After three years with Elektrostal, Proshkin was signed by HC Dynamo Moscow where he became a full member from 1997 to 2000. Proshkin’s three years with HC Dynamo flew by quickly and soon Proshkin found himself signing up with Ak Bars Kazan.
It took Proshkin seven years with Ak Bars Kazan befre he was once more signed to play in the KHL, this time under Salavat Ufa Julajew.

Aside from his professional career, Proshkin has also played with the Russian national team. He was able to participate in the World Championships in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
