Alexei Vasilchenko is a Kazakh ice hockey player who plays defense for Barys Astana in the Kontinental Hockey League. Born on March 29, 1981, Vassilchenko has also played with such teams as HC Spartak Moscow of the Russian Superleague and Salava Yulaev Ufa. He is also a member of the national men’s ice hockey team who played in the 2010 IIHF World Championship.

Vasilchenk started his career in 2002 when he played for Moscow Spartak for the 2002-2003 seasons. He then played for Ufa Salavat Yulayev for the succeeding season before moving on to play with Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik. He remained with Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik of the Russian league from 2004 to 2007. For the 2007-2008 seasons, he played with the Balashikha MVD HC. He started playing for Barys Astana in 2008 and continues to play with the team until the present.

Vasilchenko played the most number of games in his career in the 2009-2010 regular seasons, where he played in 53 games. He has scored six goals for the whole of his career in the regular season, and the highest number of assists in the 2009-2010 season. He has played in 13 games in the playoffs but has not yet scored any goals.
