Igor Volkov is a professional Russian ice hockey player who was born on January 24, 1983 in Ufa, Russia.

Volkov is known for being a product of the Salavat Yulayev school for ice hockey, which is based in Ufa. Throughout his early career, Volkov spent much of his career together with the club, and was just exposed to a short stint playing for HC Dynamo.

In 2003, the New York Islanders drafted Volkov, and was known as an overage pick and was recognized for his skill, ability to score, and his speed. Volkov is also known for his sniper abilities, although he is deemed to be more of an offensive asset rather than defensive. He is also able to create chances for his teammates. He is also recognized as crafty in handling the puck.

Currently, however, he plays for Avagard Omsk, which is a part of the Kontinental Hockey League. He plays as the team’s left wing.
