Dmitri Orlov is a Russian defenseman on Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
Orlov was drafted 55th overall in 2009 by the Washington Capitals, after another strong outing at the U18 World Juniors earned him the attention of international scouts. He had already played parts of two seasons in the Super League and KHL with Novokuznetsk, but played his first full season with the club in 2009-10, scoring 4 goals, 7 points and 49 penalty minutes. In 2010, he got off to a better start, and eclipsed his previous point records before the midway point of the season.
Orlov won silver medals with Russia at the 2008 and 2009 U18 World Juniors.
