Sergei Gimaev

Sergei Gimaev is a Russian defenseman on Barys Astana.

Gimaev was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2003, after playing his first season in the Super League with Severstal Cherepovets. He spent two more years with the club before being traded to Sibir Novosibirsk in 2005. He then played two seasons with Dynamo Moscow before returning to Severstal Cherepovets. He joined Barys Astana in 2008, and had a career high 79 penalty minutes in his first year with the club. He then put up 12 points and 73 penalty minutes during the 2009-10 season.
