Janis Sprukts

Janis Sprukts is a Latvian center on Dinamo Riga.

Sprukts was drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2000, and bounced around a number of teams over the next few seasons. He put up 80 points in 2001-02 while playing in the QMJHL, and played the next few seasons in Latvia and Belarus with ASK Ogre and HK Riga 2000. He spent 2005-06 with HPK in the SM-Liiga, where he scored 12 goals and 29 points, earning himself a spot in the Panthers' organization. He had 47 points in 59 games with the Rochester Americans in the AHL, and was called up for one game with the Panthers. He signed with Dinamo Riga in 2009, and put up 11 goals and 36 points in his first season with the team.
