Josef Vasicek is a Czech center on Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

Vasicek was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in 1998, after putting up 93 points over two seasons in the Czech junior leagues. He spent the next two years in the OHL, where he had 72 points in 1999-00 with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. He joined the Hurricanes in 2000, and had 21 points and 53 penalty minutes in his rookie year. He played the next five seasons with the Hurricanes, scoring a career high 19 goals and 45 points in 2003-04, and winning the Stanley Cup in 2006. He was traded to Nashville midway through the 2006-07 season, and spent 2007-08 with the New York Islanders. He returned to Europe in 2008, and joined Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. he had 34 points and 81 penalty minutes in his first season in the KHL, and set a career high with 21 goals and 48 points the following season. He was named an alternate captain for the 2010-11 season.

Vasicek won a gold medal at the 2005 World Championships with the Czech Republic.
