Dmitrij Kotschnew is a Kazakh-German goalie on Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

Kotschnew played most of his career in the German DEL, beginning in 2001, when he was the starter for the Iserlohn Roosters. He played the next five seasons with the Roosters, with his best season coming in 2004-05, when he put up a 2.76 GAA and .907 save percentage during the NHL lockout. He was picked up by the Nurnberg Ice Tigers in 2007-08, and had the best season of his German career, recording a 2.35 GAA and .931 save percentage. His improvement didn't go unnoticed, as he was signed to a KHL contract with Spartak Moscow in 2008. He had the best numbers of his career, while splitting the starting duties on the club, recording a 2.04 GAA. He was the full-time starter the following year, and was signed by Yaroslavl in 2010.

Kotschnew won a silver medal at the 2001 D1 World Juniors with Germany.
