Karel Pilar

Karel Pilar is a Czech defenseman on CSKA Moscow.

Pilar was drafted 39th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2001, after scoring 38 points in his second season with HC Litvinov in the Czech Extraliga. He joined the Leafs' system the following year, and appeared in 90 games with the club between 2001 and 2004, recording 30 points during his NHL duty. He returned to the Czech Republic in 2004, and played the next two years with HC Sparta Prague before re-joining the Leafs' AHL team in 2006. He spent another two years in the AHL before joining Metallurg Magnitogorsk in 2008. He spent 2009-10 with his original team, HC Litvinov, before signing with CSKA Moscow for 2010-11.
