Janne Pesonen
Janne Pesonen is a Finnish left winger on Ak Bars Kazan.
Pesonen was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in 2004, after scoring 30 points in his first full season with Karpat in the Finnish SM-Liiga and winning the league title and rookie of the year honors. He would help Karpat repeat as league champs in 2005, scoring 18 assists and 29 points. In 2007 and 2008, he had some of the best seasons of his career, scoring 55 points in 2007, and putting up 34 goals and 78 points in 2008. Karpat won the title in both seasons. He came to North America to play in the Pittsburgh Penguins system the next year, scoring 32 goals and 82 points for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL, and played in 7 NHL games. He made his KHL debut with Ak Bars Kazan in 2009, and scored 25 points, helping the team win the Gagarin Cup.
