Peverley went at Bieksa with intent to ssluoiery injure Bieksa by spearing him after unsuccessfully slashing. His spear went into Bieksa's left left thigh area. The difference between a slash and spear is that Peverley used the point of the blade which is focussed like a knife (more damaging) and not the bottom of the blade (a slash which is less damaging). Peverley should definitely be suspended. Why a penalty was not called leaves fans wondering why the referees of the NHL are being so stupied their management of the game. Lopsided refs ultimately affect the outcome of the game and steal the competitiveness of the sport. This is not wrestling, it's professional hockey. Get rid of the garbage refs and put integrity back into the game. The game can survive with legitimate penalty calls.
