Perennial contenders in the West, this season has been no exception for the red hot Flames. A well-balanced attack has their top six forwards with at least 10 goals and 20 points (except Olli Jokinen who has 9 goals and 21 assists). Iginla is having yet another great season, and if it weren’t for the surprising Colorado Avalanche, Calgary would be leading their division right now.

One of the biggest and most physical defenses in the league will have a chip on its shoulder for the 2nd half of the season, as none of the monster blueliners were named to the Canadian Olympic team. (Yes, the Canadian roster is so stacked there was no room for Dion Phaneuf or Jay Bouwmeester). If that weren’t enough, Kiprusoff is having a fantastic season, and backup keeper Jamie Lundmark has proven he can hold it down whenever called up. The Flames will be a team no one wants to play come playoff time.
