Led by young phenom Patrick Kane, Chicago has the 2nd ranked offense in the league, averaging 3.61 goals a game. Kris Versteeg (13-20-33) has emerged as another top young player, adding to the Blackhawks’ arsenal of gifted young offensive stars.
Defensively, the addition of Brian Campbell has been a major help. The veteran defenseman has 22 assists, and has led a corps of young defensemen to becoming one of the top defenses in the NHL. The addition of Cristobal Huet has helped lighten the load on veteran keeper Nikolai Khabibulin, and both goalies have played remarkably well.
