The Montreal Canadiens are one of the most storied franchises in the NHL, and after the last few successful seasons, are off to a great start in their centennial campaign. The Habs lost their season opener in a shootout to Buffalo. Since then, the Canadiens have scored 19 goals in 4 straight victories. Saku Koivu>

Alex Tanguay was picked up in the offseason, with high hopes placed on his shoulders, as Montreal hoped he could be the last piece of the offensive puzzle that would propel the Canadiens deep into the playoffs and make their first run at a Stanley Cup in over 15 years. He has not disappointed so far, with 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points on the season.

Saku Koivu and new addition Robert Lang have been great down the middle, and with the Northeast Division nowhere near the talent level it has been in years past, all the early signs indicate that Montreal may be putting together a truly historical season.
