Bullarding refers to the ability to play consistently that is either above the golfers’ handicap or was able to fail regularly during the competition. If a player is able to consistently play above his regular handicap, it is expected that the end result will be positive. But, if the player fails to achieve his objective and experiences one bad shot after another, then the result would be losing the competition. Nevertheless, a player should not lose hope even if he was not able to achieve his goal.
Bullarding and Sandbagging
Bullarding should not be confused with sandbagging. Most golfers sees sandbagger players as cheaters. Sandbagger is a golfer that uses a higher handicap than what his skills indicates. An example of this is when a player’s skill is a two and yet carries a handicap that is eight. The reason why sandbagger carries handicap that is higher than their skill is the intention to win a bet on the course. Sandbaggers will often show consistency in their handicaps, the same as bullarding, but the manner in which the golfer is trying to play is considered cheating.
Winning a Tournament with Bullarding
If a golfer wanted to be recognized as an established player, he should earn credits through perseverance and hard work. If a player experience consistently failing to achieve in a competition, it does not mean that he is a bad player. Instead he can use that to his advantage and learn from the mistakes he made from the previous tournament. You can achieve your goal through bullarding by consistently practicing handicap skills. Practicing handicap skills is one of the best techniques in strengthening a player’s ability. Once his ability is improve, the player can increase his handicap.
What to Avoid in Bullarding?
A golfer that is confident with his skills does not necessarily need to cheat to win. This is what a player should avoid in bullarding. Failing to achieve its goal is not always a bad thing. The player only needs to be confident with his ability to play until he reaches the goal he wants to achieve, which is winning a tournament and probably earn a professional title.
