John Maxwell Homa was born on November 19, 1990, in Burbank, California. He currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona in the US. He stands 185 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 82 kg.He attended Valencia High School and later he played collegiate golf for the University of California, Berkeley. While in college, he was named a Division I All-American in the 2011-2012 season. He was later named a First-Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
As an amateur, he played in Junior America’s Cup Team, representing Southern California. In 2011, he won the Silicon Valley Amateur. In the 2013 US Open, he played as an amateur golfer.
Professional Career
His first professional win was via the Web.com Tour. He won the BMW Charity Pro-Am in 2014. In 2016, he had his second win at the Rust-Oleum Championship.His first PGA Tour win came in May 2019, at the Wells Fargo Championship. He beat Joael Dahmen by three strokes. He later won the Genesis Invitational in February 2021. In the same year, he won the Fortinet Championship.
In 2022, He won Wells Fargo for a second time and Fortinet for a second time as well.
