Trevor John Immelman is a South African professional golfer who was born on December 16, 1979 in Cape Town, South Africa. He is well-known for winning The Masters tournament in 2008.

Immelman started playing golf at the age of five. He won the 1998 U.S. Amateur Public Links before he turned professional in 1999. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Carmenita on December 6, 2003. They welcomed their first child in 2006.

In 2000, he won the Tusker Kenya Open which was held at the Muthaiga Golf Club in Kenya as well as the Vodacom Players Championship. Then in 2003, he won 4 golf titles. These are the South African Airways Open at the Pearl Valley Golf Estates, the Dimension Data Pro-Am, the South African Open and the WGC-World Cup with Rory Sabbatini at the Kaiwah Island in South Carolina defeating Paul Casey and Justin Rose of England. Then in 2004, he defended his title at the South African Airways Open and at the South African Open. In that same year, he won the Deutsche Bank – SAP Open TPC of Europe golf title. His next title was in the 2006 Cialis Western Open where he defeated Tiger Woods and Mathew Goggin. In the following year, he won the 2007 Nedbank Golf Challenge which was played at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, North West Province, South Africa.

The most significant win he had was at the 2008 Masters Tournament, defeating the American favorite Tiger Woods. Despite missing almost eight weeks of the season, he was able to manage his game and won the title. And by June 2009, he withdraws from competing in the U.S. Open to attend to the tendonitis in his left wrist and elbow.
So far, Immelman has 10 career titles with 2 of these won in the PGA Tour.
