A Big Break Kanaapali Golfer, Lori Atsedes currently plays on the Futures Tour. She was born on March 29, 1964 in Rochester, New York. Raised in Ithaca, New York, she turned pro in 1987 and since then has played in and won a number of championships. She is number two on the career money list in the Futures Tour, and her exemplary performance on the green landed her a place on the LPGA from 1998 through 2001 and again in 2003.
Atsedes escaped a life of drugs and partying by playing golf. In order to straighten out her life her grandmother sent Atsedes, then in her mid-twenties, travelling to Europe to play golf. She returned home soon after, moved to Orlando, and spent most of the day practicing the game. She entered the fledging Duramed Futures Tour and from then on was clearly one of the top players in the competition, winning four times in her first five years in the circuit which ended in 1997. That year, Atsedes was granted the conditional status to play on the LPGA.
