The South Korean golfer, Jee Young Lee, plays in the US based LPGA Tour. She was born in Seoul, South Korea on February 10, 1986 and resides in Bundang, South Korea. She became a professional player when she was 18 years old at the same time was qualified to compete at the LPGA of Korea Tour. She only started playing the sport in 2000 when she was fourteen.

Lee is enrolled in Yong-in University for her college education.

Lee was considered the Cinderella in her native country when she eventually became an overnight star in the world of golf. Her becoming the rookie of the year in 2006 came with much hard work and dedication. It gave her a good starting point in the American tour.

Though she was awarded rookie in the KLPGA tour and won the Korean Women’s Open in the middle of the year, her performances after unfortunately, regressed. She failed to lead her group. But things quickly changed when Lee earned the first place in the CJ Nine Bridges Classic even if she was not a member of the LPGA yet. At the same time, she also won the Tae Young Cup on the KLPGA Tour. She was already on top of the money list to make her play in the preceding events.

She was qualified to play in the 2006 LPGA tour as a non-exempt player. But she already played as an exempt player in 2007. In that same year she finished tied up for the thirteenth place in the Kraft Nabisco; tied up for ten in the LPGA Championship; 7th place in the U.S. Women’s Open and tied up for the second place in the Women’s British Open.

Currently, Lee has 2 professional wins, one of which was won on the LPGA Tour.
