His family moved to the United States when he was 8 years old. He attended the Diamond Bar High School but left to start playing golf professionally when he was 17 years old.
Professional Career
He turned pro in 2001 and won the Volvo Masters of Asia in 2002. The following year, he also won the Long Beach Open. In 2006, he won the Mark Christopher Charity Classic in October. He beat Jeff Quinney and Chris Tidland by three strokes.
His first PGA win came in 2011. He won the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. He beat Nick Watney by two strokes. In 2018, he won the A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier. In 2019, he won the Charles Schwab Challenge, and that year, he also won his second Shriners Hospital title.
In 2021, he won the Sony Open in Hawaii. He beat Chris Kirk and Joaquin Niemann. In June 2022, he announced that he was retiring from the PGA and would be playing in the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
