McIlroy Happy With Form Ahead Of US Masters

Rory McIlroy says he’s finding his form ahead of the 2013 US Masters after finishing second at the Texan Open.

The Northern Irishman has struggled to re-discover his best this career, with Tiger Woods moving into the number one ranking.

However, McIlroy finished with a 66 at the Texan Open to be runner-up to Martin Laird, his best finish since winning September’s BMW Championship.

“Just eliminating the stupid mistakes that I was making on the course, mental errors, and to finish off this tournament in the way I did today is great going into Augusta,” he said.

McIlroy added: “I am really pleased with my game. This has been a great week for me.

“Even though I didn’t get the trophy, Martin was just too good today - 63 in these conditions is just phenomenal.”
